Program

Day 1 Balikpapan – Mahakam river  (Mahakam houseboat)

On arrival you will be met in Balikpapan and Samarinda brought close to Loa Janan, to go your own houseboat for the next few days. On board It's a simple riverboat but clean and tidy.
You sleep on deck under a mosquito net or in an air-conditioned cab. Simple but clean sanitation. Your own cook and sail along the meals are prepared fresh on board.
The Mahakam River in Loa Janan is wide. You see a lot of sailing ships, mainly logs and coal. The further we go away from Loa Janan how peaceful the river will be and the less buildings on the shore. There are also dangers in the night.

Day 2 Muara Muntai, Mancong, Tanjung Isuy, Muara Pahu (Dayak Benuaq)

We dock and walk through the village to the river Muara Muntai Poles. Here live the Kutai. There are no streets, but while walking over piles of ironwood we pass the market and school. We sail further in a motorized canoe to jempang Ohong Lake and Creek. The Jantar village is built on the water. In Ohong Creek we find many monkeys and birds and birds of prey such as ice cream. We visit today the Dayaks, who welcome us into Mancong. In Dayak Nenuaq we find one of the oldest longhouses in East Kalimantan. We can find beautiful carvings images. In the afternoon we take the canoe back to our house boat that will take us to Muara Pahu.

We are going again today with our motorized canoe and sail the Bolowan river. This is the area of ​​the Kutai Dayak. Past, we could have many freshwater dolphins come here but who are already rare.

Day 4 Melak, Eheng, Ombau Asa, Kersik Luway, Data Bilang (Eheng longhouse)

These two days we sail across the Mahakam river and making several stops like the Datah Bilang and Rukun Damai to make. Day 7 Long Bagun, rainforest and rapids (Mahakam momentum)

Day 8 Tenggarong, Balikpapan (Mahakam Tenggarong)

After a walk we sail to our destination Samarinda. Here we say goodbye to our houseboat and crew. Your driver will take you to the airport for your next destination.
